Trying to find some info on the 2 piece headliners that mine has. Found lots of info and videos on the single piece ones, but only info on the 2 piece ones was from a search here that mentioned that they were easier to fit than the one piece ones. Mine is fine in really good condition, but it’s battleship grey cloth material that I’m sure wouldn’t be original. But before I buy a new vinyl set, if it’s anything like the single piece ones to fit, I might give it a miss. Just thought while I’ve got all the windows out, might be a good opportunity to do it. Anyone done a 2 piece set? |

The 1 piece ones come down further and require you to take the windows out to install it. The 2 piece fits above the roof rail and have 2 screws holding them in. My 64 has white/cream colour with dirty brown stains from the BMC glue around the edges. I’ve never taken mine out so I can’t comment on the ease of installation ![]() You can buy the 2 piece here: https://newtoncomm.co.uk/collections/sa ... -saloons-1 |

Thanks Tim. Mine is same as yours, doesn't go over the roof rails. They might be easy to fit then? Just a bit nervous after watching the fitting of the one piece ones! ![]() |

I think that it just wedges up there and gets held in with the screws? You can see a photo of one here and it's already assembled and just gets installed in the roof? viewtopic.php?f=2&t=98588&hilit=roof+lining |

thanks Tim, that doesn’t seem too scary then if you can get it all setup out of the car like that. Might be worth a go then. |

My '61 850 had them. A piece of cake to fit, compared to the **%$--__+ one piece ones!! |

Thanks drmini and Timmy. It's done deal then! I'll order a set. Also try and do a video of it to stick on YTube as none there that I can find. Might go and grab it out of the car while it's at the painters. Give me something to do while it's out of action. |

My experience was that it is easy to fit the headliner(s) into the car but fitting the head lining material onto the frames requires a lot of patience and care. It wasn't easy to get it right but very rewarding when you do. JK. |

Thanks ozmini, good to know. I just read the info from Newton’s web site and I need glue and a stapler, but struggled to make a whole lot of sense of the actual instructions. I’m a patient man though, kind of ![]() |

Ozmini is right. I did an OK job of fitting the front half to its frame but chickened out and had a trimmer do the rear bit. He did a better job than me for very little money. Once fitted to the frame, the sections are easy to pop in and out.... Cheers, Ian |

Went to the painters today and took it out. All of about 30 seconds to remove. What a great system ![]() Just have to get a new kit now. Noticed that minisport sells them in Australia, but they only have the crinkle finish. Would prefer the more original for mine (plain textured grey or white), but have to go to the UK for them- shipping probably expensive too. |

Just for info. my roof lining was stained like Timmy's. I just lightly sprayed it with vinyl spray (20 yrs ago) and it is still like new. Paul M |
