Hi all, it’s been a while! Getting back in to this game, it feels good!

I’ve got to pull my front brakes apart and possibly rebuild. First snag (of course) is getting the drum off! I’ve backed the adjuster cams off (forgot how much of a pain that top one is!) and removed the screws. Are there any special mini tricks I’ve forgotten or is it a job for the BFH?

Cheers!

Tap GENTLY outwards around the outer corner with a BFH.
A bit of WD-40 around the inside helps too.

Provided that the drum turns! I once had to angle grind a pair off a Moke that were frozen solid for 30? years.

The brake shoes may have worn a step into the drum which is stopping the drum sliding off? maybe if you can pull in the pads from the back?

Hey fuzzy, possibly! I’ve backed them off, and the drum isn’t budging at all, if a step had been worn in would it have a little play?

I'd guess so, no play may mean it's stuck on the studs so you might concentrate on them.

put the wheel nuts back on and give them a hit - not too hard but more than a gentle tap

In the past, I have used a puller...but its likely to be the studs, get some WD40 in there to soak...
