Did the Clubman floor design change when it went from hydrolastic to rubber suspension and if so when did it take place.

I have just put 2 new front floors in my 78 the hydro tunnels are still there driver's side has the battery lead and brake pipe to rear and maybe tank vent to charcoal canister passenger side has fuel line in it. The only other difference I found was the small hump on passenger side floor for the rod change early clubmans with remote change don't have this hump the driver's side bulge in the tunnel was apparently so I have been told is a carry over from the floor starter which was never deleted

Both cars have the channels and covers like mention also where the gearstick comes through the tunnel pressing is larger/higher on rod change box

These pictures are from a Cooper S.

Are these highlighted areas the same for all Clubmans?

I believe the front edge of floor is slightly lower on 76-78 clubbies, I had to fit an adjustable steady bar to 2 cars when fitting a remote change gearbox.

This is a Leyland mini gear tunnel from a van vs a gear tunnel from a 66 S.

The Leyland rod change tunnel is higher as seen by the hump up, where as the 66 remote change the tunnel is all one height.

These were the best pics I could find on my phone at present.ImageImage
