Hi, I agree with DDK. The so called rubber in most items is nearly always rubbish. Today I have just replaced less then one year old EFI hose that was perished on the outside., under the rear, no sunlight. I thought it was in gates boxes when I bought it, but it is extremely hard to know if any rubber product is ok. I am now trying Eecel brand, made in Malaysia, cross fingers. I attempt to give chinese and indian rubber a miss., but who really knows
10 years ago I bet it was quality, genuine OEM stuff lasts almost forever , why can't the aftermarket ? and the answer is because they are doing it for a low price, and they do not have to meet OEM quality checks
Another mini owner is a rubber specialist, and tells me a lot of rubber is recycled and chemically reconstituted
He says you can taste and smell the chemicals.
How many of you have had to throw away ball joint boots, cv boot, tie rod boots, petrol tank grommets, the list goes on, and it is the same for every make. Very frustrating
I try to reuse as many original genuine rubbers as I can.
Cheers Lindsay

Well said Lindsay...unfortunately, fairly normal these days...
