What screws are used to mount internal sunvisors (flip type)? Are they the as screws used for rear view mirror mounting? |

Alan, my car has panhead self taping screws to hold the sunvisors. Rear view mirror has 3 counter-sunk chromed head metal screws. Hope this helps. Clive |

Alan, Self tapper for visor, metal thread for mirror, there is a captive nut in bracket above to hold mirror on both my cars. Clive |

They are a self-tapping thread screw - round head non-countersunk. This as opposed to the interior mirror which has captive nuts behind within the top rail and accept raised countersunk UNF No. 10 screws @ 1/2" depth (same thread as door lock, oval ignition bezel, speedo surround etc.) The parts book does list both the visor & mirror as having the same identical (RMZ) type screw... but the visors are in fact self tapers... which are 1/8" (coarse) thread. Thanks everybody! I have the mirror fitted. Just wanted to make sure before I start putting holes in my new hood lining. |
