Hi all,
Just replaced my Lucas 9 tooth starter for a new 10 tooth. Some suggest its a non issue, others say the 10 tooth will eat the ring gear. Engine is a 1969 - 1100S block with a Mk3 Cooper head. Not sure on the ring gear teeth number though - 129/107?
Cheers

Many thanks Doc, was worried there for a bit
I wonder why some say the 10 tooth will eat the ring? :?:

I have used a 10 tooth one for years.

Re the 127T ring gear that is for the Rover pre-engaged starter which has finer teeth.
