Hi All My Odometer has stopped working. I was going to take it to an instrument repair shop however that are quite busy so I may be without a speedo for some time. Is it a big deal to fix? Thanks in advance |

(the Odometer just records miles/kilometres travelled) If your speedo is not working, check to see if the cable drive is turning at the speedo "head"... |

Its very common for the odometer to wear out. They usually fail when they have to turn over a bunch of 9s. The pawl that pulls the gears round usually wears away. Depending on the age of the speedo the pawls are usually either brass or plastic, both of which are soft and eventually give up. Its probably possible to build up the brass ones and file them back into shape, but the plastic ones would be hard to do much with. Tim |

Could also be the pawl spring broken. I fixed my S speedo by robbing a spring from a Mini deluxe? one. |
