Post subject:  Tight rocker arm?

Hi All,

Last week I started my new motor and ran it for 20mins to run the cam in.
Today I'm retorquing the head and resetting the valve lash.

#1 Inlet rocker is now tighter on the shaft than it should be and the bushing has walked out of the rocker a small amount.
They are Minispares 1.5:1 rocker arms.

I'm going to disassemble the rocker arms/shaft and inspect.

Any ideas what may have caused this?
THANKS.

I have had trouble with Minispares thick wall rocker shafts like this one in the past. Specifically they were tighter on the ends where the plugs are pressed in. Right near where that rocker sits...! But it affected the exhaust rocker not the inlet.
I used to polish them down to size before fitting. May not be the case nowadays.

Perhaps these `forged' rockers are not now made in UK by people who understand limits and fits?

I'm hearing ya :)

I can only guess that the bush grabbed the shaft and turned in the rocker arm.
I've disassembled it, the shaft looks okay.
I have a couple of spare rocker arms (that's another story...) and the first of these I tried fitted the shaft nicely so it's back together, but I'll be watching closely.
