Having an issue with the driver side, cannot actuate the door lock with the exterior handle. The bell crank is actuating but I cannot see what isn't, has anyone had this issue before? prior to me tearing it all apart to have a look? or any ideas on what i should be looking for? |

There might be too much free play, the link is adjustable by moving plate up/down. |

Are you trying to shut the door with tge handle up to lock it? Cos that doesn't work. Found that out the hard way. Only locks by key i believe Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk |

No, The lock works fine, the internal handle works for both locking and opening when I lift the external handle (which connects to the part with the spring on it) it doesn't actuate the latch mechanism. I Believe that there is a failure behind the plate in the latch unit, so it isn't allowing the catch to release. Bit the bullet and drilled the stud out that holds it together. The pin on the plate is broken.
