Wanting to know the correct seat stitching pattern for a 1962 Morris Mini 850. I have two front seats that I want to get reupholstered but not sure on the pattern that the seats had for this year model and any advise would be appreciated. Attached is a photo of the seats that I have.

The examples of the Newton Commercial website might help you.

I don't think either are correct for a 1961 or 62. Most of these early ones had UK seats with tube frames under them. My green 1961 seats had a black fleck pattern in the vinyl. And a front pad similar to in that rh pic.
Also the 63 on Oz 850 had the floor brackets rivetted to the seat frame, no bolts.

The seat material was locally sourced near the start of Aussie CKD production. By March 1962 they were up to the third revision in seat fabric, and by Jan 1963 they were up to the fifth revision.

If you let me know the approx car number I can check up in the 850 parts book

Hi Pat, your car is in the second seat design, I'll get you an image of the stitching pattern tonight when I'm home.

Your car would have:
Tube style front seat brackets with 14A9917 & 14A9918 brackets (although the later seats are dimensionally pretty similar)
The seats had the piped front edge similar to this, both the base and the back of the seat had wide equally spaced stitching: https://www.shannons.com.au/club/show-n ... orris-850/

The two different coloured vinyls would be in this style, with the contrasting panels on the base and the back (although the Aussie cars used different material)

The third revision (June 1962) changed to the "rollover" style without the piping on the front edge similar to the right seat in your top photo

The trim material was listed as an Australian sourced product with an Australian part number from the beginning of production.

I also recently picked up some NOS rolled over edge trim (later type) for my car. I can measure the spacing of the stitching if that helps?

Yes it is NOS on the roll. This is the same vinyl that our 850 mini has and I may just have enough to finish the seats back to original.
