I just bought some new wheels and tyres the seller had not fitted them to the car ever and had stored them indoors out of the sun etc the manufacture dates on the tyres are 2012 and 2014 they still should be good yeh ?

I'll say yes, as the tyres I have on a Pajero were fitted back in 2007 and have just done a run to Melbourne with a caravan on the back of the vehicle, no problems, it is always stored in a garage. If there is a problem you should be able to see it with small cracking mostly on the walls. I have run all my tyres on all vehicles I have owned until they were worn out or the car was replaced.

tyres on mini daily driven mini are dated 2005, they spent 11 years on a shelf out of the sun, they are hard as burnt toast not much grip in the wet but have only worn .5 mm in 2 years of running them.

I had 20yo Yokohama A008s on the rear and 10yo on front. To get traction again I fitted new on front and offloaded the 20yo ones to Aaron's Khana car. :)

I went for a drive this morning to wear them in and to see how they felt and they were fine , plenty of grip , did not feel hard , and even managed to wear some of the nibs off !!
