Just wondering if someone can tell me what this heater is out of, was told it was early mini, but has a date of Sep 10 69 stamped on it, nothing else visible. Have tried a search, but nothing look like it. Has a sliding hand operated vent.

Not sure what they're from but my 66 van had one in it when I got that. Seemed like a basic fresh air type that required you to be moving before any benefit!
I put in a converted moke heater instead!!

Yes that is what it looks like to me, I was just going to add a 12v computer fan behind it to get some warmth.

Were these 'fresh air heaters' standard fitment to late 60's Deluxe models? Or an option only?

The fresh air heater fitted as standard to minimatic and optional for deluxe and 850 was a different type:

I always assumed that it was just an aftermarket item, fitted up to my van for some warmth. Some warmth, not a lot!!!

"Mini k’ s have them as well."
My '69 didn't, had nothing. My '70 and '71 had a good heater with fan and air deflector (demist or floor setting) below the dash. Was also fitted to the '71 Cooper S, (not sure about the '70). The heater controls were on a steel bracket bolted to the parcel shelf to the right of the steering column. Heater valve is inside the car, not on the cylinder head..

I fitted an Attwood 3" bilge blower in the flexible duct where it goes onto the firewall.
A bit noisy, but it works. Only needed in traffic.

These were only fitted to local cars so I wouldn’t think there would be any in the UK?
