Before stripping under side of old yella thought it would be a worth have the under side bituminous coating tested as there is conflicting advice if it contains asbestos as some do. So sent a sample off to be tested at Enviro Science and the report confirmed that there is no Asbestos is present. It only cost $80.00 per sample. Mini is 1977 Leyland so may be different in earlier cars. |

I did the same, as interior hessian underlay had a similar history with asbestos. My car was also free from asbestos. |

Asbestos is hiding in many products that people don't realise. Better to be safe as asbestos related illness are not nice. |
