What is under the nut at the pivot stem? I thought there was a washer and spring. Mine is packed with about six 1/4" shim type washers. |

Thats correct, although I seem to remember they're belleville (cup) washers to add some spring effect to the pivot. They're held in with a nyloc nut, and you can get a small socket ratchet in there to adjust the pivot resistance. |

So if you can get a ratchet up inside the door can you adjust the resistance?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Certainly can. A 1/4 drive ratchet does the job perfectly. |

Thanks! Quarter vents are out. Just fitted new rubbers and have to get hinge repair kits and lock springs & pins. Can't seem to find any info on the pivot stems. |

was it an absolute nightmare fitting the new rubbers? I was so traumatised I've only done one side! |
