Post subject: | Piston ring help please?? |
Hi All, I'm doing a quick rebuild of the 1275 that came with a car I just bought. The pistons I have identified as being AE 19320 +0.040" Google tells me this is a 9.75:1 late S/1275GT piston, so that was a nice surprise. However, when searching, a lot of the search results indicated difficulty in sourcing rings to suit these pistons because the ring grooves are not cut as deeply as some other pistons. I have a new set of Hastings rings and while they are the correct width, they are too deep (in the horizontal plane) for the ring grooves in the piston ![]() When tested like this, the rings are too deep: https://www.hastingspistonrings.com/tec ... ston-rings ![]() I'd rather not cut the ring grooves deeper in the pistons. Anyone know where I might source a set of correct rings? Minispares list them, but I suspect they have been NLA for a long time.. THANKS! |

can't help with rings for those pistons, but a set of hypatec pistons to go with your hastings rings isn't very expensive... precision has them for $148 |

Have you tried Karcraft in Sydney. They sold a lot of AE piston/ring sets once. |
