Hello All,
Has anyone changed the switch plate on the assembly looks like you cant even take the brushes out. I want to change the switch plate because 2 of the copper prongs have nearly worn away 1 is ok .Looks like you have to cut and join the wires.Would a small amount of solder on the ends be ok? Not sure how long the solder would last as it may wear quickly.

Hi Allen We deal with lead free solder at work now .We hate it as it has higher melting point Doesnt flow as well and I assume harder .We have a roll of it and hate the stuff.

Where are you? I think I have a couple around. Your are talking about the brass ring plate that fits to the nylon gear wheel?

Are you talking about the brass fingers? A replacement part is available from various Mini suppliers.
