Tried doing this today Very hard due to the teeth not providing a smooth surface for the dial gauge. I cant do it lol
As Kev knows my Quafe LSD has a slight tight spot on rotation that relates to the crownwheel
So we loosened the drive flange bolts and moved the diff slightly toward the shimmed side of the diff(with small hammer) and its much better with a view of moving crownwheel to pinion contact area a bit.
This was all done after adding extra lube etc had no effect.
As always when you arent an engineer or a tradie what can you get away with before it goes wrong.
Looking now to shim the other side to counter this as it seems its whats needed and Col said its not what is normally done.

I always put a .010" shim on the RH side first, to make up for the way too thick now black side cover gaskets.
