Done some looking around.I have these mains. tri metal type that look OK but are CP County Looking shows their best main bearing with higher load capacity and good for embedibillity is the XP series.(have lead) Doesnt seem available for minis .The Twin metal options are not good for embedibillity (no lead) so they dont seem available and I wouldnt consider them. I have seen pics of crap bearings on here .Are ACL like the old days. Are my Kings OK they look good and clearance is good. At least the CP still have that horrid lead that ive worked with for near 40 years. That is my knowledge lol ![]() |

I have used the King HD (tri metal) in quite a few engines and they seem to work well. - One motor has done many many miles including Melb to Perth and back and Brisbane and back and it's going strong with no signs of problems. The New ACL's also seem to be working as well as they used to years ago. I'm not a fan of the bi metal King bearings - not that I've experienced any problems but they even look cheap if you know what I mean. ACL's are my personal favorite and I tend to use them where possible for highly stressed engines. ACL race bearings are available in some sizes but are generally a special order item. |

Thanks mate I was happy when they were trimetal. My big ends are old school ACL so they are fine. Big weekend ahead it seems.I think embedibillity is a major concern in an A series hence my concern with the hierarchy hate for poor old lead Mine werent called HD |

County brand is owned by King Bearings. I wouldn't put the cheap County or King bimetal ones in a 1275 performance motor but the King HD is fine. New ACL 780 are still good as they always were. |
