Well, started stripping the engine bay on the K and Lo and behold I hit some challenging nuts on the brake and clutch reservoirs. I was using an extension on the socket set, got too much leverage and snapped 3 of 4 off. Should I just drill them out and fit some bolts through before I get it sandblasted, primed and painted? Those 4 "bolts" are part of the pedal box and should come when you remove it. You can then replace them. |

Zulu, You'll have to cut off the broken studs, drill out what's left and weld in suitable new bolts. Clive |

I did mine recently... be careful to locate them properly, there isn't a lot of wiggle room in the holes in the crossmember |

Once you've removed the old studs, I'd consider dummy assembly with bolts in place through pedal box and bulkhead and tack weld the bolts in while assembled so you're sure they are correct. You'd have to check to see if there's enough room to stick a wording torch up there though. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk |

Once the damaged bolts are removed and new ones put in place before welding, could you use the blanking plate from the other side where the heater hoses pass through the box section. They have the same bolt pattern with or without the holes for hoses. That way you can weld off the car. |
