As the subject states, the body colour obviously extends under the car over the original body deadening material. Where does the gloss paint finish, then the underbody paint finish start. Was the angled sill part a thicker paint and not as finished... if you get my drift. Cheers mini folk. |

My CS 1970, there is some underbody paint on the angle part of the sill panel .Then there is body colour on all the sill panel and all the underbody, Mine is 2 pack so it is very shiny .I did it the same way as original except I used stone guard on the underbody then body colour over the stone guard. Same type of finish as proofcote, the stone guard has better adhesion and does not crack. The advantage of using modern materials. In the factory it was a bit hit and miss where the proofcote finished. |

The underbody of the floorpan was not painted in body colour. The whole shell was rotodipped in primer. To give a ripple effect, the wheel arches were sprayed in a heavy coat of sound-deadener over the primer, as well as the under-boot floor and engine bay below the cross beam. Most of the floor was thinly coated in sound deadener, up to the sill edge lines along the sides. Body colour was sprayed along the sills and under the return curve and faded out along the sill panel edge i.e. almost no body colour inboard of the sill edge line. |

Thanks guys. Below is a picture of the angled bit. It’s been painted black, underneath the Black is stone damaged original red. Attachment: IMG_8723.JPG The next photo shows original underbody (exposed for the first time as it’s behind the rear subframe) with red over it. Attachment: IMG_8722.JPG
