Is there a trick to remove the remote linkage for the door lock? The lock assy has been removed and the outer handle is still in situ. There is a 'u' piece of the linkage that wraps around the window channel guide and not enough room to manoeuvre it back to get it passed the channel. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Alan. |

The circlip on the outer handle is the hardest part, once off squeeze the channel as Simon said. I bent the U channel a little wider then left the circlip off. |

Hi Doc. What exactly is that circlip there for? Like you I just tossed it after ages of fiddling about try to fit the bloody thing. Doesn't seem to have any ill effect not having it...? |

The circlip holds the channel piece onto the outer door handle. This channel is normally a loose fit as it's a parallel shape. But if you stretch it open a little, the circlip isn't needed as it sits in there tight. Good riddance to circlip. ![]() |
