Hi All,
During moving house a dart board backing board fell and hit the door of the mini denting it.

The car is in a wedding in December so I want to get it fixed. I have called a mobile dent removal company but they want $220!!! Which is an outrage really.
So, want to get the dent fixed and the drivers side and back of the car sprayed.
Can anyone recommend a good paint shop and repairer in Adelaide?

I'd be polishing out the scratch (like Meguiars scratch X), to check if there is any paint damage (or minimal), then ringing around a few paint-less dent removal services.

I'd be surprised if you couldn't get it fixed for between $50.00 - $100.00... Drive to their shop to save a few $ too.

Much better having a small (scratch) imperfection than a mismatched door colour, IMO....

That's just so expensive! I'm worried the steel is too thick on the door skin compared to modern cars.

I thought $220 was pretty reasonable for a mobile dent repair. I'd certainly pay that much to get one fixed on my car.. they can normally spot other dings around the car and fix them at the same time.

I'm not planning on doing a full respray. It's an insurance claim for the dent only. and for a difference of $6 between mobile dent repair and having it done in a workshop I'm tending towards workshop.

No other dings on the car. It's straight.

Dolly under $20.... I don't have the skills :c(

probably. I tend to do that when it comes to my mini....

It's the difference in steel thickness that is the issue for me. I'm not convinced the thicker door skin will fold out as well compared to newer car panels that are thinner. I've never had a dent popped on the mini before, only on more modern cars.

I think maybe the older steel in the mini is thicker but more malleable. Modern panels may be thinner but higher tensile

Will actually make it much easier to work on. Just make sure you do a little research on the reputation of the 'paintless dent repairer' first.

I would avoid having panels resprayed at all costs if it is original paint.
