Hi all.
I will be pulling my engine and gearbox out during resto, can I convert my first gear to synco without to much trouble.
Maybe the more important question is " Should I do this " or keep it original ?
Any thoughts ?
Thanks in advance

The 3 Synchro gearbox cannot reasonably be converted to 4 synchro.

You are best to source a later 4 Synchro gearbox and have it ready to go for the changeover. They are just about identical apart from the part numbers, so it will not be an issue of originality unless you personally like the little crunch into first...

Hi Glen
If you have a three synchro box, no you can't as the gears and case are different to a 4 synchro one
Only solution is to buy a four synchro box.
The idler bearing in the flywheel cover is larger in the four synchro system so you also need to upgrade the flywheel cover
Cheers
Dave
