I am completely overwhelmed as to how original this thing is, testament to the length of time it sat in storage (from 1983 till 2007). This thing has its original matching numbers engine, interior, roof lining, heater, all the hard bits. John owned the car from new till 2007 and the body is unbelievable, which is surprising for a race car. Knowing the history of the car and its very limited use I would say the shown mileage of 25000ml is original. Very nice bit of history. The car would make an unbelievable restoration project if it were just a normal Cooper S, but with the history behind it, all that will happen is a clean up, full rego and drive it. G. |

Yeh, She is pretty understanding. She knew how bad I was when we met, so the fact that I am in the shed and not the pub puts her mind at rest. Yes mate will be at the muster and will have 4 cars with me. I have reached my personally imposed limit though, so from here on in it will be one out / one in. There is only one other car I am really chasing, so if I get it something will have to go. G. |

winabbey wrote: Greg - do you have an Austin 1800 ute to go with the Manton car? Hi Doug Fortunately Manton's trailer came withe the car but the 1800 was long gone. We've been offered a few 1800 utes to complete the package but they will never substitute for the real thing. We will probably restore the trailer at the same time as the car (they were all painted out of the same tin!) and drag them behind our usual tow cars. Richard |

To my mind...a replica Manton 1800 towmaster would be a great tribute to the man and the Mini ![]() ![]() |

When I look at this photo the Austin 1800 tow car is like 'the elephant in the room'. The Cooper S and trailer would look a little lost without it. ![]() Attachment: shell car and Trailer.jpg
