Post subject:  No brake pressure buildup

As the title says I have no pressure build up on the brake pedal.

Brakes are working but there is no progression. The pedal moves about half way down then the brakes start and the force of pedal pressure is how much they apply without too much extra travel.

The car is a 63 850 with a disc brake front.
Parts changed so far:
All 4 rubber hose
Rear cylinders
Rear shoes
Rear drums
Master cylinder

There was a servo which has now been removed as that was causing a problem of pulling the brakes on when the engine was running.

All 4 corners have been bled (a lot)
No visible leaks. Fluid level doesn't drop when the brakes are pumped.

I'm out of ideas so any help is greatly appreciated

Are the rear drums adjusted properly? Calipers on the correct side?

PDJ.

I had nightmare with my 7" Cooper brakes after my resto some years back. I had the calipers on the wrong sides. Thus, the bleeders were at the bottom, so always had air. Eventually I realised my mistake. Easy when assembling front frame off the car! Never thought they were identical except the bleed ports.

Yep callipers haven't been removed and the bleed nipples are at the top. Pretty sure the rears are adjusted correctly.

Pedal feels more solid without a servo.
This is normal.

Does it stop? Coz that sounds like a good pedal with no air in the system?

Are the rear shoes adjusted all the way.
Adjust them so that you can't turn the back wheel.
Press the brake pedal hard a few times.
Unadjust until you can turn the rear wheel with a little bit of scraping/friction.

See if this makes a significant difference.
