Post subject: | Fuel Gauge |
Hi: I have looked through the forum but I cannot readily see the answer to my problem. It sounds a silly question but: fuel gauge reading near full but I knew the tank could not be near full. Filled the tank at the servo, now the gauge shows near empty. Needle goes to zero when ignition is off. Needle fluctuates as the fuel slops around in the tank on corners. Any ideas? You could put my auto-electric knowledge on the back of a postage stamp. If it makes any difference it is a 1963 Countryman, so a van-style tank. |

Maybe the float has split, or dud voltage stabiliser, or bad earth on tank. Something for thought. ![]() |
