After some general opinions please. Does changing the car colour from what is on the data plate seem to lower the value or appeal? Any other things to think about? |

There are some people who pay a premium for originality when buying a classic car like the Mini. If the engine number and paint colour are the same as on the ID plate (if fitted) then you should expect to sell the car more easily and for more money than if it had a different engine and different body colour. This particularly applies to rarer models like the Cooper, Cooper S and Clubman GT. Having said all that if you plan to keep the car and drive it regularly then make it whatever colour pleases you. It can always be changed back later, albeit at a cost. |

be careful when choosing your colour, it's opinion only, but ultra-modern colours or those colour-changing paints often suit big cars, and when they're put on a mini they look silly... |

A lot depends on the originality of the car, if it's fairl stock origin car I'd say keep it the same colour. If its a modified bitsa, go for your life. My car was fine with its perfect condition original white but I decided it a bit boring. |

To me, having the original paint is a bonus. |
