Ok, its a stripped shell with no hood lining. I see I have 3 options,
1. Cut plug off inside car, so when rejoined, the joints wont be seen - and pull towards rear of car.
2. Tape all wire branches back to the loom, staggering the terminals where necessary, and pull forward down windscreen pillar and out the holes.
3. Pull the loom and plug towards the back of car, up the pillar.

Option 2 is what i'm considering, as I think the wires will be narrow enough to go down the pillar. Option 3 would be the simplest, but will the plug fit up the pillar ? Option 1 would be the easiest, I do have some of those fine crimps with clear heat shrink on ( worked a treat shortening a sr20det loom in a super7 clubman I'm also building), which would do the job. Just don't really want to cut the loom if any of the other options will work.

Thoughts ?? I just don't want it all jammed up in the windscreen pillar.

It's a few decades since I last did it but I think I used option 2. Suggest you wait for some more opinions first.

Whichever option you take I suggest you pull a draw string or wire through behind the loom so you can easily reinstall.

Option 2 works, but you will need to remove some of the bigger plugs from the loom, you can leave the pins connected just remove the plastic shell

Thanks, that was part of the plan. It really wouldn't be an easy re-install otherwise. :)

You forgot option 4, put it on floor like the Rovers have them.
