hey so restoring my 1275 LS and found this today was very odd and has the same welding on the other side as well any ideas ???

Checked all my cars interesting 75 Leyland mini s no sighn of welds at all , rest of the cars the van and the ss and 998 ls and all 1275 ls,s have it

That's because Bruce the trained gorilla welded most of them.
What can be seen is the back of the welds with excessive penetration AKA "burn through".
He just had the MIG cranked up to max.

yep, to much peno and wrong angle of the torch and welding too slow Maybe a new operator on the line .2mins with a small belt linisher will fix the prob

Ah so. All is good I was freaking out thinking some 1 had played with the car ect
