Hi all, After a long break I'm back into my project. I wanted to d a bit of checking with RMS in NSW re the body shell, and from others opinion my car seems to be a 67 Minimatic that was converted to manual. There is no ID plate,( the car had been fairly modified) but the chassis# ( 1522) and production # (1029) are easily seen. There are the other stamping under production # which appears to be M2 with a 4 lower down to the right. The chassis & production seem to be ok but can anyone shed some light on the M2 with the 4? Thanks Brian

The 4 you can see maybe an A.

M2/05A should be the matic body build code. It was to identify the body and what extras were to be added before paint and the ID plate fitment. It should be covered in paint and not used for rego purposes.

M2/05 was deluxe. M2/06 Mk1 Cooper S. M2/15 850. M2/50 Cooper. 2/05 MiniK. 2/06 Mk2 Cooper S.

'matics have the hole at the front of the tunnel - same hole as an 850.... so by '67, if it has that hole then it's either a 'matic or a morris mini minor

Thanks, yes that's how we figured it might be an auto, the 850 type hole which has been non factory welded up and a horrible cut for the remote.
Thanks again
Brian
