Post subject:  Rover Mini Gauge Cluster into Leyland?

Hi all,

Opportunities present themselves from time to time, and before I shop I would like to know if it is an east swap. I have a 77 Leyland Mini with the original 3 gauge cluster. Would the a Rover Mini cluster (such as is pictured below) be plug and play?

Appreciate your thoughts.

David.

I think only the tacho wiring is different, if its out of MPI. easy way to check the rest is put the two side by side and follow the circuit 'tracks'.

Coil pack minis ran a different tacho signal, though the rest is very much the same.

Thanks guys.

Can the signal be converted?

I have the dash from a late MPI Rover mini in my LS and it works fine. I can't remember for sure as it was some time ago but I think if you remove the tachometer there is an adjustment screw that can be turned tune it to your requirements. I think I connected up another tachometer seperate and adjusted the Rover one to read the same as it. I can't saw its 100% accurate but I believe it to be pretty close.

Thank you all for your replies. Apart from Tacho calibration - all seems plug'n'play.

Cheers, David
