Post subject:  Help with '67 Cooper S firewall

Hello all,
I am trying to help a facebook friend in the USA. He has just bought a 1967 Cooper S which was imported into the US in 2007.
He has asked about the large cutout in the firewall & what it should look like, so if anyone has any pictures of the correct firewall as opposed to this, that would be great!

There is a recess for the master cylinders that was on both sides of early cars until around YKG2S2 1100. After that they only had a recess on the drivers side.

Randy's car should only have one recess like the picture below. Chassis number stamp is missing. The circular hole for the bulkhead blanking plug should have 4 small holes around it. There should also be 3 holes under the speedo not 2.

Fill your boots. Not my photos. I probably got them from Facebook or Ausmini anyway.

I never knew that about master cylinder recesses on the passenger side!!

makes sense that there's one on the passenger side, would it have been deleted around the same time they went to the 'australian' floor pressings with hydro channels?

Changes are probably in Johns book.
There were a few body changes around that time but they were not all at once. Going off my photos it looks like the Firewall and sunvisor fittings were changed (Early 66) The Oil cooler (Mid 66) Floors were changed (Mid 67) bonnet stay receptacle moved rearward (Dec 67)

If this car is a genuine 1966 model. My bet would be it is not
an Australian produced Mini, if it is a genuine Australian Mini then
it is earlier than 1965, I would think the hole has been modified
