I decided to have a look at the starter motor today to see what sort of condition it is in
Commutator is a fair bit worn and brushes look like they need replacing
Brushes look like the earth ones came with the brush plate rivetted on
KB Classic Parts used to have heaps of NOS Lucas stuff but sold out to someone in Vic i think
Any other sources for NOS Lucas M35G Starter Parts
Dont really want to go down the Chinese starter route
Would like to keep original

Karcraft used to also sell complete rebuilt Lucas starters, I got one a year back and it's been excellent.

Used to sell Unipart's Lucas ones, now they list a Prestolite. Dunno its details.. email or ring em.

[edit] Apparently it's the Unipart Lucas, GXE4404, google search calls it a Prestolite now.
