Mandatory to throw a towel over the seats to avoid sticking to them!

If you feel a panel with your hand before applying body filler like most of us do. It is imperative that you wipe the panel with grease and wax remover, wipe on wipe off 2 rags required, before applying the body filler.Perspiration or sweat contains water, minerals ,lactic acid, urea, sodium ,and a few more chemicals . The sodium and water can cause rust under the body filler and it may not show up for a long time,I have seen this on panels and it can push the body filler outwards forming lumps in the filler. Anyhow my advice is to prepare the panel correctly for body filler it may save you some heart aches in the future. Always read the instructions on the body filler can, Most body perspiration occurs in hot weather and you can loose 3 litres of fluid a day. P7676 If you suffer from depression or you are in a recession always keep your MINI in your possession. P7676 .Hope this was a good tip to help restorers . Make sure there are NO high spots in the panel before applying body filler, you cant fill High spots. |

I have a question that relates to this - I have been filling/priming/sanding on my car and I want to wipe the panel down after sanding - what's the right thing to use? |

i got a mini wrote: Wax and grease remover ??? is it safe to wipe down primer with it? it won't take the primer off? and which wax and grease remover, the 'septone' brand is UN1268 which is Enamel Thinners, so I think will dissolve primer, but PPG DX330 is mostly "Naphtha (petroleum), hydrotreated heavy", but I've no idea what that does

I used septone wax and grease remover around the engine bay while cleaning the wiring (which works fantastic) and plenty was wiped over etch primed paint. As long as i didnt scrub, it didn't affect it. Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk |
