Chess set made from BMC and British Leyland Parts .Made 40 years ago. No part has been modified cut or welded. All pieces bolt together using BMC bolts not cut. Squares are 1.6mm stainless and brass which I machined to size. White is chrome plating, Black is powder coating. The rotisserie is made from a trampoline which I procured on throw out day. Added castors and some verticals. P7676. Went to see Jenks this week he is doing a great job on his Mini. If you have got depression or in a recession always keep your mini in your possession . Note chess set has not been seen for 40 years .Found it yesterday, and thought it may be interesting for the Forum, so don't throw your old parts away. Hope the pics are OK. P7676 |

Apprentice project? I did something similar when I was an apprentice in an avionics company, mine would have got binned 40 years ago ![]() No where near as impressive as that. |

That's excellent, a real 'poolroom' piece. How did you acquire it, or did you make it. My father was a cabinet maker, long since passed away, was asked to make a gift for a retiring BMC dealer employee. I remember it was a set of book ends made of fancy crafted wood and a couple of chromed and polished Mini con rods and pistons. |

You meant the angled one with the big hole in it? Front brake pipe union, where switch goes in? |
