Post subject: | Cv Joints |
Just bought and fitted new disc brake (outer) CV joints to my Clubman. These now have a thick outer washer under the nut. Any thoughts on this. |

as long as the washer is only pressing on the tapered washer thing that goes into the drive flange it's OK. If the washer is pressing on the drive flange then the tapered washer isn't doing it's job and it'll be bad news |

I think in the kit, the instructions (yes, I actually read them once ![]() It's gotta be then removed for final fitment and fitting the split pin. |

Stuwey, Mine didn't have any instructions, but I thought your instructions would be the way to go. |

On a Disc type C.V. the thick flat washer is not used. I don't know why it's even included but you don't use it. Count it as a handy free thick washer for somthing useful in the future or just throw it out abd fit up the joint as per the original design. -Ben. |
