Hi everyone, I have another 1100 motor out the back I am wanting to try and see if it will start. It is sitting in its subframe and everything is on it, all ancillaries. Can I start it up somehow without wiring harness?
Thanks,
Steve

Yep you can run a thick gauge cable from the battery positive to the starter motor. Thick Earth cable from battery negative to the engine block. Then a smaller gauge wire from the positive via a momentary switch (from supercheap, repco or Jaycar etc) to the starter solenoid to kick it over.

I also run a big battery isolation switch so you can kill the engine when you need to.

Voila, good to go.

Yes. A positive wire.
You can pull it off to stop the engine as you will have no ignition key !
