Has anybody had one of these overhauled recently? There are a couple of people who do booster overhauls such as Hydroboost in Echuca. Did you get a changeover or did you get your own booster problem repaired? My preference is to get my own booster repaired as it needs the control valve cylinder sleeved and maybe the main slave cylinder as well and I want mine back so I know exactly what was done to it. My experience with c/over units (not brake related) has not been good. Ebay has so called major O/H Lockheed kit SSB 1036 which doesn't have all the parts that should come in SSB 1036, only the rubber cups and gaskets. SSB1036 should also include - diaphragm, circlip, cup spreader and lock tabs for the bolts that hold the vacuum chamber to the cylinder. Any help or advice appreciated. RonR |

I have had 3 Lockheed boosters overhauled earlier this year. Only needed 1 but thought that it was better to get them all done while parts and the knowledge was still out there. Mine were not "on Exchange". I used Burt Bros in Fairfield (NSW) who sourced all the bits (maybe from Hydrovac?). The body is resleeved to standard; the air control valve resleeved oversize so that it takes (as I understand it) the PBR VH44 piston and rubber cups. All bits for the control valve are available - so too the main body, although I have some old O/H kits for that section and didn't buy them. Including plating the vacuum tins, it wasn't cheap so I have avoided adding it all up |

I have had quite a few Boosters done by Hydroboost. The man knows his Boosters and price is very reasonable. |

The Lockheed 5 1/2" servo was used from YKG2S2 501 TO YG2S4 1613. |

![]() ![]() Looks like a trip to Echuca is on the cards. Hydroboost seems to be the place to go to for Lockheed booster repairs. Hydroboost usually seem to be at swap meets as they were at Bendigo earlier this month and Ballarat in February. I'll give them a ring tomorrow. Hopefully they can sleeve both bores as well as supply the SSB 1036 Major O/H kit. I don't need the full reco as I had the vacuum tank halves and assorted screws and the air valve base redone at a local electroplater - new zinc plating and gold passivation - at the last rebuild about 10 years ago. This will be the fourth rebuild on the booster over 48 years. Seems like about every ten years is the go. I have kept all the old boxes and parts etc for the SSB 1036 kits. That's why I was a little annoyed that ebay kits purporting to be Major O/H kits don't have all the bits. Thanks guys . Much appreciated. RonR |

I called Hydroboost a few years ago to get my Lockheed booster done, and they told me they didn't do them anymore. and I would need to send it to NBS - forget the actual name of the business but I did and came back fully reco'd. Not cheap but still original and I believe stainless steel sleeved, so worth it. Looks like they are doing them again then? |

Hydroboost do not do the Lockheed Boosters anymore , I had mine done here , they do a good job , but don't do the plating of the metal parts , you have to get that done yourself .... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MINI-COOPER- ... SwDk5TtRbe |

AJ wrote: Hydroboost do not do the Lockheed Boosters anymore dunno where you got that idea from - they did one for me a about 2 weeks ago - $380. I sent them the booster, they had it replated in melbourne and they reconditioned it and sent it back all done |

+1 for Burt Brothers in Fairfield, Sydney. in my build thread I took pictures of their work as that modify it to make it work better. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=82297 |
