Question for those who have repainted/refreshed their grilles.

Satin or Matt?? and what process did you use?

Rub down, etch and paint. Satin looks better than matt and tends not to look 'dirty'.

+1 for Satin. I masked up and painted with a can.

I had to go back into my gallery and check mine , i've used gloss black , rubbed back , masked up,
(that'll test you :D ) etch primed & painted , then polished .

Looks good, although I was thinking along the satin route, I did send an email off to a chrome(r) and powdercoater to see what they would come up with. Got a close up of the badge?? I have 2 "spares" that have 2 silvers of metalic blue in the long cutouts

I had a few grilles that i tidied up at the time i done the above one for my van, as for the centre badge, I polished them first ,wiped them down with Prepsol ,then masked up the long lines and hand painted them with a fine art brush and hobby paint , i just took the badge with me and tried to pick a paint colour as close as i could .
