Polished up my Lucas horn from black to a nice and shinney finish now it doesn't work. When I first mounted back on the car it worked but only just, very faint and sounded as if it was under water. So I played with the flat screw on the back hoping to adjust or something and now its shorting somewhere because as soon as I plug it in I blow the fuse. Looks great though haha. Anyone help me? Can you still get them, or can mine be fixed? Or does someone have one for sale? My car is a 1970 mk2 cooper s. |

Paint stripper, polishing mop on my bench grinder and elbow grease. I goggled Lucas horn repair and learnt a little about them. So I opened mine up and the flat screw on the back that I adjusted was adjusting the contacts. So by screwing all the way in I think i've created the short. Nothing seems fused at all but I don't know where this screw should be adjusted to. It still doesn't work. |
