I have a GR 266 ss cam in my 1275 but haven't used it yet. Will know soon when I dyno the engine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

RE266 SS with 1.5 rockers works well with twin HS4 carbs. So does an RE13, which gives a little more top end. I ran a Camtech VP3 with 1.5 rockers in my 1310S motor. Carby was a 45 Dellorto. After 50,000 miles the lobes were worn badly. Graham's cams have a bigger nose radius, they last longer. |

I'm using a GR 266ss, in an 1100S block out to 1330cc, single 1.3/4 su & maniflow extractors, std s type rockers, very good road cam with good spread of power, it takes full throttle less than 2000rpm, goes to 6500 / 7000, & has great torque, hope this helps |

So who has a suitable used camshaft i can buy to send in to get reground Rather keep my original cam and regrind another MK2 Cooper S 1970 Do these have wider lobes than std cams? And what type of drive for the oil pump is used? |

All 1275 cams have the wider 1/2" lobes. So do all A+ motors including 998A+. Cooper S are pin drive, other 1275 A series are spider drive. A+ are all slot drive. To use spider or slot drive in an S block you need to drill and tap 1more hole in the block. Cooper S pin drive pumps are very expensive now. The others are cheap, around $40. |

This engine was rebuilt by Rodney Hansen in Toowoomba some years ago I will contact him to see if he had done any mods like camshaft etc But i feel its still a standard cooper s engine |

Was talking to a well known Mini person today and he suggested a 30/70 cam Now if i am correct that means the inlet opens 30 deg btdc and closes 70 deg atdc So how does all this compare to duration specs on cams Anyone got a graph to show how these 2 different specs workout Been a long time since i stuffed around with cams in engines and since i had my brain removed due to lack of use i have forgotten ![]() |

Those numbers (you add 180deg) give 280 degrees duration. These days you can get better torque and HP whilst running less duration. Better drivability. Big duration = a pig in traffic, usually. |

But how do you find out the btdc and abdc figures with today's cams when they only give you a duration |

Ask the cam grinder. GR will tell you if you ask nice. Tighe cams has their specs listed, so does Camtech. There is much more to cam design than duration. |
