Hi all I sent my drivers door handle in to the local locksmiths to get the barrel keyed to the same key as the ignition. But we have one problem, the door handle never had a key to suit it since I got it so the locksmith made a key to the code but the barrel is ceased. It's been in penetrating oil and still no go. I just need to get the barrel out so I can change the escutcheon as its in the locked position. Anyone able to help?

Are you saying the barrel is seized in the handle? How does the locksmith know if the lock is "locked"? How long has it been in penetrating oil? It can take some time to work. On occasion I have found that another locksmith can achieve what the initial one failed to do. Do you have any options in that regard?

If the lock pin is protruding into the escutcheon it is locked. You cannot strip it until unlocked.
I took mine to John Smidt and tried all his Mini key collection until one fitted.
Not all locksmiths are created equal. My local one broke my boot lock whilst attempting to unlock it. :(
