There is a thread from the UK about a possible new 145 width tyre for minis. They are still trying to assess the demand to see if they'd go into production. If you'd be interested, it might be worth sending them an email. http://www.blockleytyre.com/index.htm See the full thread here: http://mk1-forum.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=15108 The photos attached are of their other tyres for an example of the tread pattern etc. |

Looks like a more retro designe tread. Could be good for original styled minis. |

Reminds me of the Dunlop Aquajet tyre. |

Looks like a cross between an SP44 and SP3 http://www.vintagetyres.com/item/798/14 ... --road--tl http://public.fotki.com/cnaind/passenge ... /sp32.html |

A top tyre in its day, I reckon it was better than aquajets. |

good things being said in that MK1 forum thread... Quote: Blockleys have indicated they may be prepared to produce a 145/10 tyre to the old SP3 tread pattern with a period looking side wall. Quote: I would put SP3 Blockleys on ALL my road going cars. Instantly! I use Blockleys on my Dad's MG J2 & they are the vintage racing tyre of choice, superb quality! Quote: Its not just "another choice"!
It's a Quality tyre with a genuine 60s Dunlop pattern, made by a company that really care about vintage & historic tyres. This could be a real game changer! |

An update today from mk1-forum: Dearg1275 wrote: I have just had an email from Julian at Blockley Tyres. He says "Thanks for the email. The 145x10 size is in hand and at the mould making stage, so something will happen in 2017!" Sounds Great news to me. http://mk1-forum.net/viewtopic.php?p=144929#p144929 |

I remember Goodyear G800s and I shudder at the thought. No grip whatsoever on anything wet and not much better in the dry, Good riddance. RonR |
