I want to install an auxiliary power outlet so that I can charge my phone etc.
Someone must have done this before, can anyone help me. Is it as easy as coming straight off the battery?
Or will that fry/wreck my phone or something else? I have a 1970 mk 2 cooper.

I've done a search but nothing comes up.

Cheers Matt.

I have a USB charger from Supercheap under the dash, powered from one of the spare non-fused terminals on the fuse box. In-line fuse holder, seems to face been fine.

I installed a 12V Repco cigarette lighter (remember them:) to power my satnav, tyre inflator etc through a switch and in line fuse from a live terminal under the bonnet... My phone came with an "in car" charger that uses the same socket.

Other wise I would have thought you could get a plugin USB outlet... more versatile that a straight USB connection.

Cheers, Ian

Just need a power and an earth. Run a wire from your fuse box.
