Hey Guys,

Just put my HIF44 on my 1100 mini however its running super rich as it was originally set up for a 1360.
Just wondering if anyone has put an hif44 on an 1100 before and if so what needle do you suggest?

Thanks

Is it a standard 1100? Have you adjusted the mixture?

Yeah just a standard 1100, so an hif44 is probably too big in reality. And yeah wound the mixture all the way in and still rich

I have a HIF44 on my 970 cc Cooper S engine.
BDL is the needle I started out with but was a bit lean at the top end,
BBW fitted ,good over all. This is what I have now.
BCE seems too rich at bottom end
BDL seems too lean at top end
BCF too rich mid to top end.

I did this using an AFR meter up the exhaust pipe, and a fair bit of road testing.

This is a useful site to compare needles.
HIF44 has 0.0100 jet.

Awesome thanks mate!
Might try out the BBW or BCE, the 970 cooper s head has bigger ports than a standard 1100 yeah? So might end up a similar needle

970 has huge ports and valves, and i rev it to 8000, but on the 1100 I might try the BDL to begin with.I think you will find the BCE is too rich for you.

Ok I will give that a go! Thanks for that :)
Looking at putting a 12G295 on it at some point so will have to bump the needle up a bit then anyway

winding in is richer , out is leaner.
