The wet frames have "tabs" inside the suspension towers for the hydro units to lock into. Insert the hydro unit, get the tabs lined up and turn it a bit. These can be knocked out of the way with a cold chisel or large punch/drift, then you can fit dry rubber cones. This is the only difference I can think of. There are also more frames that have extra bolt holes and metal brackets for sump guards and bumper mounts. And auto frames which are wider in the engine bay to hold the fatter auto gearbox, and auto frames are wet. |

Hydro bumpstops are on the top arm aren't they? dry it's on the subframe. UK front subframes are different again (not sure about rear) and rubber mounted to the car, they also use a single large bolt at the top of the suspension tower. |

It is only UK subframes from '76 on that have the single top bolt, these frames are rubber mounted at top, front and floor. They are dry not wet. |
