Hi there,
Does anyone have knowledge of the Bathurst winning Cooper S from 1966?
I know it has gone missing, but does any one know what the car number, engine number & registration number were? "EFK 167" seems to be the popular rego opinion, but what about the other two numbers??

It would be good to know the original ID plate details. I always keep an eye out for a toga white car around YKG2S2 1500.

I reckon you're on the money there, around car number 1500, Toga White, resprayed Castrol Green?

Was re-sprayed back to white before it was stolen.

My brothers old car (67? Bathurst car) now owned by coatsie was painted Castrol Green from the factory. Was the previous years car white from factory?

In the 66 bathurst video you can see the interior is painted white.

Yes.

The last couple of pages of this thread has a discussion about the 66 race, including shots of 13c showing the interior is still white meaning the car was a closed door respray into the 'Castrol Green'. The other cars were likely painted by the factory but Bob Holden managed to wrangle the car from BMC just prior to the race.

Someone online here is probably driving it around blissfully unaware (I hope), that his/her car is the one in question....
I guess if it's ever found it's next to worthless because it's stolen goods....

Correct. If you find out it is in your garage, the car can be taken away from you and returned to the Rightful owner. Now that may not be the previous owner. If he was paid out by an insurance company then they actually own the car. What a nightmare.

Was it comprehensively insured? Did the insurance company pay out? Is the insurance company still around?
Can you reimburse the insurance company the $1000 they paid it out? :P

The owner of the car in 1967, from whom it was stolen, was John Millyard (see The Mini Experience Issue 15).

When I interviewed John in 2008 he said that when the car was stolen obviously there was a police report done, which contained all the relevant numbers. However, over the past years, John had looked for the paperwork on numerous occasions, without success.

It is unlikely that the numbers will ever be known.

And yes, the car was originally white, painted green for 1966 and back to white before being sold to John for 1967.

I think the only way you would find out is if you approached NSW police with numbers of car and engine to get registered and then they tell you it is a stolen car.

I can't see them giving over the information otherwise, even if they have it.
