Yeah.. Good one Convertable! No not planning on anything like that.. I'm considering using my van as a daily driver for work. I mainly want one for rigidity as I will be carrying a load most of the time. A nice side effect is a bit of added crash safety. Even if was a half (rear) gage I know there are issues putting a cage in a road car, but I would like to investigate it further. I was just wondering if they were ever made? I'd like to see some photos. Cheers Doc.Martin |

never seen one offered as a kit - maybe in England.... I'm sure it'd be a custom made job. the rear arches of my old van flexed a huge amount - so much that both of them had cracked all the way around and a PO had brazed them up. I put a brace between them and in to the floor. |

Try redline roll cages up your way, they may be able to help! or at least point you in the wright direction. |

If yours is only in the load area you can fit what you want. Will make little difference in an accident though, but my van would flex enough that I could see the gaps open up on the rear doors when cornering |

I've considered this for my Van as well, by the time you bought and modified a kit you could basically have a custom built one. I'd recommend using a fabricator, there's a few around that do a lot of this sort of thing. I've been considering Extreme Custom Engineering, they look like they do some good work (plus I need a tank as well). It sort of makes sense in a van, actually, would be nice to reduce some of the flex around the back and it isn't going to get in the way much. |
