Post subject:  Chrome Body Moulding Strip For Clubman

I recently purchased a new set of clubman flares and some chrome stripping to attach them and run the length of the car, but I was a little disappointed in the chrome strip. It is definitely not what I would consider "chrome", and has much more of a "brushed aluminium" look.

Looking at other mini shops and their products seem similar. Does anyone have any recommendations as to where to buy more chrome looking chrome strip for a clubman?

As far as I have found, the brushed look one is all you can get. If anyone knows of something better I'd be very interested too.

I havn't bought it or tried it.

I guess the other option would measure it exactly, a car that has it on that it, and get some stainless extruded and shaped.

I have been complaining about this to my suppliers for a couple of years now, and some times I get the shiny one and sometimes I do not. But this is only in the double edge (Cooper S) trim. It seems that I cannot get the shiny trim in the flat type, however I will keep trying.

As you have told me John they no longer make this with formaldehyde as the chemical is banned I believe , unfortunately the chrome finish is almost lost however there is still a bit of variation I had some from minisport in Adelaide on a car and despite that car being garaged 24/7 it went yellow in 6 months I replaced it with some from link automotive and that has lasted and hasn't gone yellow after two years so maybe try Brian at link
