Can anyone comment on the replacement plastic master cylinders for roundnose mini. They are about $60 cheaper than the tin can type. |

Not for the purists, but they do work well and don't rust. I've got them on my van. |

Is it possible for someone post a photo of them in place please. I'll then decide if to purchase them or rekit my old tin ones that are in reasonable condition. |

Thanks Indigo, much appreciated. Didn't expect that look though. The orientation of each tank compared with the mounting brackets is different obviously to be able to fit in, similar to the tin tanks. Observation, the brake cylinder plastic tank is square on with the bottom mounting, whereas the clutch cylinder plastic tank faces one end of the mounting bracket. This may be a silly question (please correct me experts), just a thought and looking at the orientation of both cylinders, if they could be swapped, the clutch becomes the brake cylinder and face outwards to the left with the plastic cylinder facing the front, and likewise the brake becomes the clutch cylinder and faces to the right with the plastic cylinder facing the front. Obviously this would work only if the internals of each cylinder could be swapped. Have a look at the Minisport website and you'll see what I mean. Any thoughts out there ? |

Interesting - The Minispares and Minisport web site state the brake cylinder has the larger mounting foot, which is the way I have them around. I also checked that the brake cylinder has the valve in it when I put them back on. So I think I have them around the correct way, but they do look crap. You could probably swap them around (if they are the same ID and you change the internal valve from one to the other). Then both reservoirs would face the front, however the one with the larger mounting foot would be the clutch which is not correct. If you are concerned about the appearance I think you need to pay the extra cash. |

I have checked my original tin can cylinders and the mounting foots are exactly the same. Anyhow my previous ramblings was just a thought as they wouldn't look too bad if the plastic tanks faced the front, and no, I don't reckon they look crap by all means, they just look different., and I still may get them. Thanks for your time Indigo. |

Sept 3rd Is now the taget date to complete my resto. I could come early and help milk the cows (aka 850's) ha ha. Working on the deluxe everyday, bit by bit. Don't tell anyone though. Will the road be sealed by then so I don't get my baby dusty ? |
